Zach Chapple, President/CEO

Zach has been serving families in the funeral home industry since 2008 and is the second generation in his family following his father, Mike Chapple, with over 30 years of service. As President/CEO and Founding Officer of Knight Riders Inc., Zach saw the need for a professional transport and removal service that could represent a funeral home in a way they could be proud of. So, he put together a team that could do just that! Zach attends Hillsdale United Methodist Church in Advance, NC and has worked in the mission field as far away as a recent trip to South Africa where he witnessed to hundreds of youth. Zach enjoys spending free time hunting and vacationing with his wife, Wendi, and their children, Charlotte and Beau.


Wendi Chapple, Office Manager

Wendi is also a founding member of Knight Riders, Inc.. She is responsible for all the office and client account services including invoicing, payroll, insurance compliance as well as working with the NC Funeral Board and NC Medical Examiners Offices. Wendi also serves as a Registered Nurse and brings that caring personality to her work in the mortuary transport service. Zach and Wendi were married in 2015 and attend Hillsdale United Methodist Church together. Wendi loves being a mother to their two beautiful children, Charlotte and Beau. She enjoys traveling and RVing with family and friends.


Charles Childress, COO

Charles is a former law enforcement officer and also a business owner for over 12 years. He began his work in the funeral and transport service in 2010 as a Founding Member of Knight Riders, Inc. and has gone on to become the Chief Financial Officer. He brings a wealth of business management and administration knowledge to Knight Riders which has been crucial in the growth and success of the company. Charles loves spending his spare time fishing, hunting and enjoying the outdoors with his wife, Katie, and their blended family of three chilldren, Austin, Bryce and Henley.


Melanie Caudill, General Manager

Melanie spent several years in a professional business office as a leader and knows the importance of detail-oriented work in a fast paced environment. She joined the Knight Riders team in 2016 as a Removal Specialist and fell in love with the industry. Melanie now oversees both Districts in the day-to-day operations as well as maintaining a constant line of communication with our clients to ensure the Knight Riders level of service is being met. Melanie attends New Friendship Baptist Church. She enjoys spending her free time antiquing and attending sporting events with her son, Gibson.


Mike Chapple, Senior Advisor

Mike has been serving families with professionalism in the funeral industry for 30 years. With his caring, compassionate nature he has served hundreds of families with dedication and concern. Mike is presently location manager of a large, established funeral home in the Triad. Mike and his wife, Carrie, are active members of Hillsdale United Methodist Church. Mike is also an active member of Rotary Club of Clemmons. He also enjoys spending free time entertaining his grandchildren, golfing, and vacationing at the coast with his family.

District Management

Reggie Parks, Greensboro District Manager

Reggie obtained his Master of Science in Psychology and Industrial Organizational Psychology through Capella University and served his community as an Intensive Case Manager, Substance Abuse Counselor, and Funeral Attendant with impeccable Funeral Services experience. He has a gift for serving families with superlative professionalism, dignity and respect. Reggie joined the Knight Riders team as a Removal Specialist and is now the Greensboro District Manager. Reggie attends Victorious Living Church Ministries in La Grange, NC and serves as the Pastor’s Assistant. He often enjoys reading the Bible, cooking, traveling, spending time with family and friends and helping anyone in need.

James Brannock, Winston-Salem District Manager

James has spent the last 20 years helping families in need. Coming from the disaster relief field, he knows the importance of detail oriented work and putting other’s needs first. James joined Knight Riders in 2019 as a removal specialist and found his home with a great working family. He oversees the Winston-Salem Division in everyday operations as well as keeping in touch with all clients to make sure the level of service Knight Riders has set continues to be met. He enjoys long weekends grilling in the back yard and spending time with his wife and pets.
